Pioneering Sri Lankan poultry producer Crysbro recently recognised the untiring efforts of its staff across multiple business units by rewarding outstanding performers who have played a pivotal role in helping the company meet its goal of supplying the country’s nutritional requirements.
From the company’s 1,200-strong workforce, 103 employees from across Crysbro’s 18 business locations and six subsidiaries, a collection of prizes were awarded, which included cash rewards, hotel stays and foreign trips, presented at ceremonies at their individual workplaces.
Among those feted were 75 staff members who were given special mementos for their long years of service to the group. In the Best Employee segment, 25 employees clinched cash prizes, complimentary stays at a star-class hotel and foreign trips.
In the Most Outstanding Employee category, three staff members walked away with cash awards and a holiday overseas with their family.
Meanwhile, the Galgamuwa Broiler Farm claimed both the Most Improved Farm title and Green Award for sustainable practices.
Furthermore, proving that it maintains a deep commitment to employee welfare, Crysbro conducted two programs aimed at identifying staff talent, empowering employees’ families and uplifting morale – The Rhythm Ants singing contest for employees and the Sisudiriya dancing and choreography competition for their children.
J.A.G. Wijeweera placed first in The Rhythm Ants while 17 children from the Head Office team annexed the Sisudiriya dancing and choreography competition to secure scholarships for themselves.
“Usually we call all employees to one location and we celebrate their achievements at our Annual Awards Night. This year too we planned to stage a similar gala event in April. However, due to the terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday, we unanimously agreed that it would be inappropriate to stage such a celebratory event at a time of national mourning and heightened security,” said Group HR and Administration Manager Ranjana Mahindasiri.
“At the same time, we decided that we definitely should show our deep appreciation for every employees who has excelled throughout the year and given their full effort to help this organisation grow. This is what led us to organise a mini-awards ceremony at all our business locations.”
