For the first time in the 11 year history of one of the biggest electronic music festivals held in the world, a Sri Lankan duo will spin their brand of magic on a Tomorrowland stage. Gerard Fonseka (Blake Stryder) and Dilshan Perera (Dee J Dilu), better known as 6dfhSELECTRO will perform on 22 July at the Mazda Sound of Tomorrow Island in Boom, Belgium. The duo is also only the second artist from South East Asia to be honoured with an opportunity to perform at one of the most notable global music festivals.

A couple of years back, two good friends from the production studios of SUN FM wanted to make music, music that was not only good but electrifying; music that has a certain flair. Niro B and Blake discovered the synergy they needed when they decided to combine their talents to bring out a whole new infectious sound to the local and international music scene. The result was Sri Lankan Electro or better known as SELECTRO.

After the tragic and unexpected passing of Niro B, SELECTRO was left with a void that was soon filled by Blake’s best friend and current band mate Dee J Dilu. SELECTRO today are renowned among Lankan house lovers with a growing global audience and spin out continuous hits such as their mega club and radio favourite ‘Sri Lanka’.

A catchy tune that was soon noticed in the international arena, ‘Sri Lanka’ is the first ever Sri Lankan progressive house track to be featured on international radio stations like BBC Radio 1 UK, Kiss 100 and in Philippine radio stations like Wave 89.1, Monster RX 93.1 and 99.5 RT. The track was so infectious that it topped Kiss Demand Hot 40 on Kiss 898 and has been a club anthem in the paradise island ever since.

SELECTRO have also performed with the likes of Sick Individuals, Funkerman, Nicola Fasano and Steve Forest, DJ Antoine, Erick E, Patrick Oliver, Disciples, Plastik Funk, Ferhplay, Marco Farouk, Yves La Rock, Edward Maya, Guru Josh, Artful Dodger, RIO, DJ Starkillers, James Murray of MOS, Mohombi, Akcent, Sasha Lopez, Mattyas, Alexandra Stan, David Deejay and Ela Rose, Morena, Tom Boxer and Sunrise Inc.

SELECTRO also perform every weekend at Sri Lanka’s No. 1 club – KAMA Colombo. The two gifted musicians created a reputation with the fused talent of ‘SELECTRO’ in Sri Lanka by their incredible performance which sets dance floors on fire wherever they perform.

Last year more than 180,000 people attended Tomorrowland and the likes of Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Hardwell and Tiesto took centre stage. Themed ‘The Elixir of Life’, this year’s performances include Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz among others. Following Tomorrowland SELECTRO will also perform in Austria and Switzerland further showcasing Sri Lankan talent to the world.
