Howard Martenstyn wins top award for Travel & Tourism Sector – Best Sri Lankan Website

At the recently concluded event at The Kingsbury, renowned marine mammal researcher Howard Martenstyn won the coveted top award for the Best Sri Lankan website in the Travel & Tourism Category.BUP_DFT_DFT-9-6

Martenstyn designed and developed the website www.slam.lk himself during spare time from his busy schedule, with no professional help whatsoever.

An already celebrated author having launched his bestselling book on Sri Lankan marine life, ‘Out of the Blue’ Howard is an avid researcher of Sri Lanka’s maritime. He is also a Director of CRIOMM (Centre for Research of Indian Ocean Marine Mammals) and is dedicated to the cause of educating people to observe best practices while enjoying marine life. Howard is also committed to passing on his legacy to young school children across the island, especially designing posters and commissioning translation of his work into Sinhala and Tamil.

Creating and designing this website is his first foray into this arena, one he hopes to develop and experiment with more as he constantly widens his horizons.
