TTG Mice, Asia-Pacific’s Intelligent Business Events Resource, has selected Santani resort and Spa as one of the top hotels that can cater to high end corporate groups through curated and specialised programs.

Located in Werapitiya, which is an hour outside of Kandy, Santani’s property has worked with industry expert Deepal Sooriyarachchi to create a curated Inward Bound Program, which focuses on corporate mindfulness.

Santani CEO Vickum Nawagamuwage said: “This is an extremely important area of growth for Sri Lanka, and MICE travel is growing, especially in the higher end of the travel spectrum. This program we co-designed with Deepal has a great mix of activities including hikes in the surrounding area, yoga sessions, world-class spa treatments, fine dining and intellectual discourse. The main aim of such a program would be to connect high performance teams at an inner level that will enable them to function better and empower them as team leaders and managers. TTG is a top travel publication, and recognition from such a source shows the potential that both Santani and Sri Lanka have.”

Sooriyarachchi added: “I have been working on Inward bound programs and mindfulness for some time now, but a property like Santani really becomes the differentiator, as the entire resort is designed to create that state of mind and the other activities help achieve a great level of synergy.”

Santani has 20 rooms, and is Sri Lanka’s first purpose-built luxury wellness resort. The resort also has an outdoor infinity pool which overlooks the Knuckles mountain range, an indoor thermal pool, sauna and steamroom facilities, as well as some as a wide range of personalised gourmet meals. A number of hikes are provided at Santani, including excursions to the Knuckles mountain range, one of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO world heritage sites.

Santani Director of Operations Chamindra Goonewardene stated: “In today’s day and age, corporate mindfulness and corporate wellness are so important, given the mental health issues that companies have to face due to the different factors faced by employees. In that context, a getaway of this nature has the ability to have a significant long-term impact beyond traditional outbound training programs. Santani is the perfect location for a program of the nature and it will assist with re-energising high performance teams. While global companies have made this move, companies in Sri Lanka are now seeing the opportunity and we look forward to working with local corporates as well.”More information about the resort can be accessed at www.santani.lk.
