Go Vacation Sri Lanka, together with preferred hotel and local service providers, organised and hosted a familiarisation tour during the first week of December for a group of DER Touristik Top 20 Champions. As their title indicates, this VIP party included senior staff and branch managers from DER Touristik best performing sales agents.
The itinerary was designed to showcase as many as possible of Sri Lanka’s unique highlights and visitor experiences. The group stayed overnight at a luxurious Negombo beach resort Jetwing Blue; drove to historic Kandy for sightseeing and overnight at Hotel Topaz; then proceeded by train to the cool hill retreat of Nuwara Eliya ‘Little England’, where they stayed at the nostalgic Victorian-era Grand Hotel. Visits were made to a typical tea estate and factory, before driving on to the Yala National Park for a game-watching Jeep safari. They returned to Colombo visiting leading beach resorts and the 18th Century walled port of Galle staying overnight at Jetwing Lighthouse.
After such an original tour, the Top 20 Champions left for home, inspired by all they had seen on this serendipitous island.
