  • Host of experts to shed insights to ‘Charting a Course for Sri Lanka’s Tourism Future – Navigating Post-COVID-19’

 

The Cinnamon Future of Tourism Virtual Conference will be held on 11 May on the theme ‘Charting a Course for Sri Lanka’s Tourism Future’. 

The first-ever edition on its virtual platform (Facebook Live/MS Teams) will host renowned speakers known globally for their expertise in the industry – Special Advisor to the Secretary General and UNWTO Representative – CNN Travel Anita Mendiratta, E-Tourism Frontiers Expert – Post Crisis Recovery CEO Damian Cook, Twenty31 Consulting Inc. Partner and Toronto, Canada University of Hawaii’s Executive Development Institute Program School of Travel Industry Management Lecturer Oliver Martin, Minor Hotels CEO and Minor International Group CEO Dillip Rajakarier, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairperson Kimarli Fernando and will be moderated by Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts Brand Marketing Head, John Keells Holdings Vice President and Cinnamon Life Mall CEO Dileep Mudadeniya.

The panellists will discuss and debate on the key areas such as, the impact of COVID-19 on the industry  (locally, regionally and globally), possible timelines of crisis ending (with suggestions to rethink the strategic focus and framework of quality and contribution of leisure and business tourism to the country’s sustainable growth and community development), recovery options post-COVID-19 and growth projections, destination and property marketing post crisis and best practices adopted to overcome and navigate the current situation.
