Chamber of Tourism and Industry celebrates 73rd Independence Day

Felicitates health workers and frontline workers engaged in fighting COVID-19 pandemic

Religious observances and honouring the Officials of Health Department and Security Personnel who played an exemplary role in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic were the highlights of Sri Lanka’s 73rd Independence Day celebration organised by the Chamber of Tourism and Industry Sri Lanka in a fitting manner at the Auditorium of the Arugambay Blue Wave Hotel.

The program chaired by its was attended by all religious dignitaries, security personnel of Sri Lanka Army, Police and Navy and hoteliers and employees in the tourism sector. Pottuvil Divisional Secretary Santhuruwan Anuruddha participated as Chief Guest. 

Pottuvil Sengamam Army Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Kumara Medagama, Pottuvil Medical Officer of Health Dr. A.U. Abdul Samad, ASP (Police) S.S. Predeep Kumara, ASP (STF) S. Bandusiri, OIC Police  Chief Inspector Nishanda  Dissanayakae, Pottuvil Pradeshiya Saba Secretary T. Thiyagarajah, Public Health Inspectors, security personnel, correspondents and three wheel drivers who extended their fullest co-operation and assistance to the officials of the Department of Health in combatting  COVID 19 pandemic day and night were honoured by awarding them with mementos for their selfless services along with the Appreciation Certificate by the Chamber of Tourism and Industry Sri Lanka. 

At the conclusion of the ceremony Jaufer was honoured by Chief Guest D.S. Santharuwan Anuruddha for successfully organising this event.
