Tag Rugby Carnival, Sports Medical Camp, Hawker Style Food Street and more at Bradby Fiesta 2018

With the extravagance, the festivities and the carnival atmosphere to add to the excitement of the most anticipated game of school rugby, the stage is all set for the after party Bradby Fiesta 2018, to kick-start with the signal of no-side, marking the end of the game.

The Bradby Fiesta 2018, which coincides with the Colombo leg of the historic 74th Bradby Shield, shall be the most extravagant and exciting of the three fiestas held prior to this year’s event. The Fiesta will be open from 9 a.m. of the day of the game, 21 April at Bloomfield Grounds, Colombo.

Tag Rugby Carnival

Bradby Fiesta 2018 in partnership with Milo is to host a Tag Rugby Carnival to promote and infuse the need amongst the players of tomorrow to take up the game of rugby.

Twelve ‘under 10’ school rugby teams have confirmed participation at the Bradby Fiesta – Tag Rugby Carnival 2018. Royal College, Trinity College, S. Thomas’ College, St. Peter’s College, St. Joseph’s College, Wesley College, D.S. Senanayake College, Mahanama College, Zahira College, Carey College, Thurstan College, President’s College, and A Goal Academy are amongst those who have confirmed participation.

Sports Medical Camp

Fiesta 2018 will also feature a Sports Medical Camp that will be open for free medical advice from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Sports Medical Camp will present a great opportunity for anyone who has taken up any sort of a game and especially the youngsters to get an expert opinion on sports related medical issues since four consultant doctors in sports medicine will be present at the venue.

Dr. Devaka Rathnapala, Dr. Kamal Gamage, Dr. Vidhura Wijesundara and Dr. Rangana Hettige will be available to examine and prescribe to those who attend the camp and seek assistance.  Services of a physiotherapist with all modern equipment will be available at the venue.

Carnival

The Bradby Fiesta 2018 will have live coverage of the 1st leg of the 74th Bradby Shield played on two giant screens, presenting those who couldn’t purchase a ticket for the game with the opportunity to catch the live action.

The Kids Zone presented with the partnership of Milo will present a wide variety of fun games for the children. Apart from more than 20 games that are available at the Kids Zone, Fiesta 2018 will also feature merry-go-round rides, jet rides, rifle shooting, paint ball games and much more.

Hawker Style Food Street

Apart from food, beverage and ice cream stalls from the official sponsors, Nestle Lanka Ltd. and Ceylon Cold Stores Ltd. – popularly known by the famous brands Elephant House and Keells – a Hawker Style Food Street at the Fiesta will present stalls from more than 25 famous eat-outs in Colombo including many leading five star hotels.

The after party

The wake of the eve of 21 April Saturday will be lit up with lighting, fireworks and blazing performance by many artistes, with a variety of music to match all age groups. There will be dazzling performance by DJ Mira – a Ukrainian-born female DJ backed by DJ Lunatics and DJs from Sun FM. Much glamour and colour will be added to the after party with live music from Black, a leading entertainer in the Sri Lankan music scenario, with live performance by Sunil Perera, Sanuka Wikramasinghe and Shermaine Willis.
