Army played magnificent rugby to continue their winning streak

Army SC proved that their Kandy win in the Hills was no luck but sheer good performance when they got the better of the Sailors away at Welisara (27/24).

At the short breather, Navy led 17/14.

Navy forward Kasun De Silva powered his way through for the first score of the game. Skipper Thilina Weerasinghe added the extras. But the Soldiers hit back through veteran Asoka Jayalal. Isuru Medagedera added the extras. Thilina scored the next try and converted. Medagedera scored the second Soldiers try. He converted to take the short breather at 14/17, trailing by three points.

Thilina Weerasinghe and Chathura Seneviratne scored tries in the later half with Thilina putting over two penalties for the home team. For the visitors, Ashan Bandara and replacement full back Gayan Salinda scored their tries. Salinda took the winning penalty in the last minute of the game.
