Sri Lanka Cricket is to negotiate the terms of sponsorship with Dialog for the national cricket team’s sponsorship for the next three years 2020-2023.

“Two parties showed interest and made bids for the team sponsorship. Dialog is one of them and the other is an Indian party,” said SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva.

“We’ll be actually negotiating with Dialog as we had no issues with them and they are a local partner. However they have given a considerably low figure compared to the previous years. Maybe because of the COVID-19 situation and volatile market conditions and other expenses I don’t think we will get the figures they offered us the last time. But if we can raise it by a reasonable percentage we will be happy,” he said. De Silva said that the current team sponsorship had already expired and the new one would commence from this year. “If everything goes well we will be signing the contract within a couple of weeks.” (ST)
