The Sri Lankan Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) is pleased to host the inaugural SLASSCOM Cricket Carnival (SLCC) 2019 on 27 April at the CH&FC grounds from 10.00 a.m. onwards. This promises to be an exciting tournament with over 60 teams from Sri Lanka’s IT/BPM industry competing to become the champion.

SLASSCOM Chairman Jeevan Gnanam commented, “We are on a mission to achieve a $5 billion revenue target as an industry by 2022. In this ambitious journey, both employers, employees and future employees entering the industry should recognise the profession as not just a great career to be in, but also as a career with work-life balance and unity. I’m sure that the SLASSCOM Cricket carnival would be an ideal platform to bring industry professionals and their families together for a day of celebration”.

SLCC 2019 will provide a social platform for everyone in the knowledge solutions industry to interact beyond work and the boundaries of their companies. The event has already generated tremendous interest from SLASSCOM member companies with over 1,500 anticipated attendees. Cricket is a language almost every Sri Lankan speaks and this event will be a day of entertainment for all who like to play cricket, watch cricket or simply would like to enjoy a good time with family and friends. Other attractions include multiple food and beverage stalls, face-painting and a bouncy castle for kids, DJ and ‘paparé’ band, and a fireworks display.

The event is sponsored by Strategic Partner Exetel Communications, Platinum Sponsor IFS Research & Development, and Silver Sponsors ISM APAC, PricewaterhouseCoopers, SimCentric Technologies, Sysco LABS and WSO2. SLASSCOM initiatives are also supported by Corporate Sponsors Dialog Axiata, Hatch and Horizon Campus. The countdown has begun to see who would become the first-ever SLASSCOM Cricket Carnival Champion.

SLASSCOM is the chamber for the knowledge solutions industry, which is currently Sri Lanka’s fifth-largest export earner. The industry is promoted globally as the “Island of Ingenuity” www.islandofingenuity.com for world-class knowledge solutions and aspires to reach $5 billion by 2022, powered by over 200,000 skilled jobs in the industry, along with a thriving ecosystem for start-up companies.
