  • MCA ‘B’ Division 50 Over League Tournament 2020

Singer Sri Lanka‘s opening batsman, Lasith Lakshan had the honour of being the first centurion in the ongoing third Fair & Lovely Men MCA ‘B’ Division 50 Over League Tournament 2020, during the match which took place on 9 October.

Lasith Lakshan carried his bat out with a classic run-a-ball 100 not out, which included two sixes and six fours; he was associated in a 107 runs opening stand with J. Sachin (31) in 130 balls, and thus, carried Singer Sri Lanka to a comfortable eight-wicket win over CDB with over 16 overs to spare.

The unbroken fourth wicket stand of 90 runs in 47 balls between Sangeeth Cooray (81 not out in 75 balls with two sixes and 10 fours), and Nimanda Subasinghe (54 not out in 26 balls with three sixes and eight fours) gave MAS Silueta a clinical seven-wicket win over Pyramid Wilmer.

Pyramid Wilmer, who won the toss and batted, was restricted to 196 runs in 50 overs by Silueta bowlers Isuru Samarasooriya (4 for 23 in 10 overs) and Buddhika Fernando (3 for 48 in 10 overs).

Asia Asset Finance just could not cope up with HNB’s varied bowling attacks of Vimukthi Perera (2 for 38), Sajeewa Weerakoon (2 for 19), L. Rasanjana (3 for 49), and Madhawa Warnapura (2 for 17), as they crumbled to 134 in 38.2 overs. HNB shed little sweat on reaching their target, scoring 135 for 2 in 25 overs, thus winning by eight wickets.
