Former Pakistan left arm fast bowler Sohail Tanvir returned home and will not take part any further in the ongoing Lanka Premier League 2020 tournament.

Tanvir who tested positive on arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport was put into a quarantine centre for two weeks. Tanvir was signed up by Kandy Tuskers outfit who also lost out on Chris Gale due to an injury during the Indian Premier League (IPL) training session.

Tanvir was isolated at a separate hotel and supposed to have not contacted anyone from the team or its support staff before being tested positive. Tanvir got a late call into the Kandy Tuskers squad after their Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz and England pacer Liam Plunkett pulled out of the tournament.

Dale Steyn, the former South African pacer, who is under quarantine, is expected to play for the Kandy Tuskers.

The 35-year-old fast bowler played for Rajastan Royal in Indian Premier League (IPL), county cricket for Hampshire and Somerset. (SJ)
