Darmapala, champions of 3rd Olcott Relay Carnival

Darmapala under 20 Girls, receiving the award from Gamini Swarnapala, Treasurer of Olcott Foundation and Patron of OBA – Maliyadeva

Darmapala College, Pannipitiya won both the Girls and Boys championship of the third Olcott Relay Carnival held in Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala recently. The Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy and Rahula Colege, Matara were the Runners-up respectively.

This Relay tournament was organised by the Old Boys Association of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala together with the Principal and staff of Maliyadeva College. The tournament was conducted by the Colonel Henry Steele Olcott Memorial Sports Foundation (CHSOMSF) and the event was concluded successfully and colourfully. Around 15 schools participated and there were 33 events in different age limits and gender categories. 

The interesting event was the above 40 years age OBA member’s event. The winners were Maliyadeva and the runners-up were Rahula College. The next Relay Carnival is to be organised by Ananda College, Colombo.
