CR to bank on Samoan power

Colombo Rugby Football Club (CR&FC) have signed Samoan Joseph Fuimaono, who will arrive in the island tomorrow from New Zealand where he is currently training.

The red shirts will be led by former Vidyartha player Kavindu Perera with Trinitian Tharinda Ratwatte serving as his deputy. The outfit is coached by former Kingswoodian and Sri Lanka Sevens coach Nilfer Ibrahim.

Sri Lanka Army SC and Sri Lanka Air Force have acquired the services of several Fijian players for the upcoming Dialog Inter-Club League 2018/2019, which will kick off this weekend.

Sri Lanka Air Force have already hired Sailosi Vodonaivalulevu, who will play against the defending champions Kandy SC in their opening game on 10 November in Ratmalana.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Army have taken four Fijians - Boila Sosivetarura (26), Kuruinovo Ameniasi (35), Tuimaba Aminiasi (23) and Ualuvu Savenaca Delo (25) – into their squad for the forthcoming club rugby season. (SJ)
