‘KTM Orange Day 2019’ brings action-packed weekend for bikers

‘KTM Orange Day 2019’, an event organised by David Pieris Motor Company Ltd. (DPMC) to create an opportunity for youth to interact with fellow KTM owners, was held successfully last week at Sri Lanka Karting Circuit (SLKC) in Bandaragama. 

Speed, exhilaration and thrills filled the day as Sri Lanka’s KTM users gathered at the DPMC City Office Complex and rallied for SLKC to take part in the ‘Orange Day’ activities. Nearly 100 passionate young bikers who own KTM Duke 200, Duke 250, RC 200, and RC 390 set SLKC’s internationally homologated karting track on fire with their racing skills. The Grand Prix Kart Fight stood out as the most exciting event with Shanel Leon Fernando winning first place, Kalif Mohommed Hasan being placed runner-up and Hasan’s twin brother Kalif Mohommed Husain being placed second runner-up. The climax of the event was the selection of Mr. KTM. From the bikers who registered for the event, Palinda Sandakelum was selected as Mr. KTM while Mohammed Afthaf Ashroff and Sapun Manohara Palihawadana were awarded as first and second runners-up respectively.

In the midst of all the racing fun, activities such as air rifle shooting, swimming pool games, refreshments mingled with music to create an enticing atmosphere filled with fun.

KTM bikes which was introduced to Sri Lanka by DPMC are renowned for a rich racing experience giving them exquisite cutting-edge. KTM is Europe’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and dominates the off-road segment across the world. KTM has won every edition of the Dakar Rally since 2009, adding 270 plus world championship titles to their credit.

Currently, two KTM showrooms operate in Battaramulla and Jaffna while KTM dealer showrooms are situated in Kattankudy and Matara. An exclusive KTM servicing and repair workshop also operates at DPMC Hyde Park Corner to provide after sales service and technical expertise for the convenience of customers.
