Oviklo International wins at 2017 National Business Excellence Awards

In recognition of its excellence in business and contributions towards the logistics sector in the country, Oviklo International Ltd. was named the Silver Winner in the Logistics and Transport sector at the National Business Excellence Awards 2017.

Organised by NCCSL, the event was held at Hilton Colombo on 13 December.

These recognitions are an acknowledgement of Oviklo International’s all-round performance such as corporate governance, capacity building, performance management, global and local market reach, corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability, and business and financial results.

The National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka organises this prestigious competition to identify and encourage Sri Lankan organisations which are emulating such excellent performance in the industry.

Ovilko Head of Operations Ruwan Wickramasinghe said: “As an ISO-certified logistics company, established in 2011, with 40,000 sqft warehouse facility serving handful of customers, at present we serve over 300 local and multinational customers with more than 400,000 sqft while winning prestigious awards motivates us to serve more and better in coming years. Oviklo recently set up a 70,000 sqft state-of-the-art logistics hub adjoining to Biyagama Export Processing Zone and is working on putting up another warehouse of 100,000 sqft in coming months of 2018 while building our company and core values we spare time and resources for our society and environment by allocating a percentage of our revenue.”

The National Business Excellence Awards is the flagship event of the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka, an annual awards competition which was held for the 14th consecutive year. It prides itself for its well-rounded evaluation criteria, which takes a holistic view of a company and not just parts of it. It comprises of an evaluation of an organisation’s financial stability, reach in global markets, excellence in process innovation, capital investment, institutionalisation of corporate social responsibility and more.
