Oceanfront Condos: A priceless experience

A picture they say is worth a thousand words but living and experiencing it has to be priceless!

My four-day vacation at a first of its kind, beach-front, serviced, luxury leisure condo- Oceanfront Condos, located in Nilaveli, was one such.

Set amidst a breathtakingly picturesque location in Nilaveli, just 14 kilometres from Trincomalee facing two kilometres of pristine soft sandy beach, between a lusciously green garden with majestic palm trees, and the ceaseless calming blue Indian Ocean, an 80 foot long freshwater swimming pool, a gymnasium, and a café which serves all three meals including the freshest catch of the day, located right within its precincts, the Oceanfront condos are constructed in such a way that one is treated to a 180-degree view of the magnificent ocean, from each condo.

A mere 20 minute boat ride away is the Pigeon Island Marine National Park, with its jewelled coral gardens and 300 types of reef fish, that makes it a snorkeler’s and diver’s paradise. 

With 54 condominiums in four identical building footprints, the apartments are very spacious (1,180 sq. ft. to 2,100 sq. ft.). The condo I occupied on the third floor had, very high quality and tasteful fittings including a spacious living room cum dining room overlooking the ocean, fully-equipped kitchenette, a luxurious and cosy master bedroom with a well-appointed attached bathroom, and a second bedroom also with an attached bathroom and hot water. The entire condo is air-conditioned, with fans in all rooms for those who are averse to air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and PEO-TV television. 

Facing the pristine beach of Nilaveli, my condo offered blissful solitude and freedom while on vacation, devoid of all those stifling constraints a hotel usually imposes. 

For me as a writer, the peace, privacy, serenity, fresh air, coupled with the only sounds of waves breaking on the beach and the breeze, this place was much more than I could ask for.  Oceanfront Condos is a project by one of Sri Lanka’s leading players in the construction industry; International Construction Consortium Ltd. (ICC), and the brainchild of its Chairman and Managing Director, Harsha De Saram.

Oceanfront Condos have become a much sought-after investment for those interested in owning their own beachfront holiday home coupled with a higher resale value. Most of the condos have been bought by individuals and rented out to holidaymakers. 

The Developer, ICC, facilitates the renting and managing of the condominiums on behalf of its clients. While the owners go about their daily business, ICC manages and rents out the condos, thereby enabling the owner to earn an additional income from their holiday beach-front homes.
