National Construction Association of Sri Lanka elects new President

The 35th Annual General Meeting of the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) for the Year 2018/2019 was held grandly on 9 March at the Grand Monarch Hotel, Thalawathugoda, amidst a huge gathering.

NCASL 1st Vice Chairman and reputed construction businessman Susantha Ranjith Liyanarachchi was elected Chairman of the Association for the year 2018/2019.

Liyanarachchi will be taking over the reins of the Association at 10.00 a.m. on 21 March at the NCASL Secretariat, “Idikireem Madura” (No. 350A Pannipitiya Road, Pelawatte, Battaramulla) among a distinguished gathering of Cabinet Ministers viz. Minister of Primary Industries & Social Empowerment Daya Gamage, Galle District MP Piyasena Gamage, Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government Vajira Abeywardena. Most of the hierarchies in the State and private sector organisations also have confirmed their participation at this felicitation ceremony. Liyanarachchi is a resident of Elpitiya in the Galle District and his father a construction businessman and member of the Provincial Council. Liyanarachchi took over his father’s construction company and became a reputed construction businessman in Sri Lanka due to hard work. He has an extensive background in the field of construction due to his many years of experience. He Joined the Southern Branch of the National Construction Association in the year 1988 and maintained his membership continuously to date without flaw. He held many key portfolios in the Executive Committee of the NCASL and subsequently became the 15th Chairman of the Association. A vibrant and a kind-hearted personality, he is known for helping anyone in need. The NCASL membership wishes him all success during his term in office, extending hope that under his dedicated Chairmanship, the Association will reach another milestone in the coming year.
