Minister Amunugama Chief Guest at Green Building Awards

Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development and Vocational Training and Kandyan Heritage Dr. Sarath Amunugama will be the Chief Guest at the fifth Green Building Awards Ceremony on 30 June at the Ramada Hotel Colombo at 7 p.m.

The event is organised by the Ceylon Institute of Builders.

The CIOB promoted green building awareness, concepts, technologies and processes in Sri Lanka with the intention of creating a sustainably built environment for our future generations. As a part of our green building mandate, CIOB recognises green features of buildings, construction materials, and products, contractor companies, and professionals and rate their ‘green friendliness’ under an internationally recognised green rating system, and award such products, materials, companies, and buildings accordingly.

The awards ceremony will recognise a number of Sri Lankan construction industry companies and their products, materials, buildings, their construction practices, and professionals that have been rated as ‘green’ while awarding them the prestigious CIOB Green Mark.
