INSEE Cement-Sri Lanka names Gustavo Navarro as new CEO

INSEE Cement appointed Gustavo Navarro as Chief Executive Officer of its Sri Lankan operation with effect from 01 September. The appointment follows the relinquishment of CEO duties by Nandana

Ekanayake who successfully navigated the company through 3.5 years of unprecedented market and socio-economic challenges. Ekanayake will remain as the Chairman of the Board of Directors that he took on in May 2019, guiding the company in its next phase of growth. 

Having previously held CEO positions for Holcim in Serbia, Russia and for CRH Cement’s Romanian subsidiary, Navarro draws experience from a long-established career in the construction and building materials industry. With two decades of C-level leadership experience in contrasting construction landscapes and countries; Argentine-born with an Italian heritage, Navarro brings deep insight to Sri Lanka’s growing cement business in a demanding post-COVID era. 

Today, through investment in research and innovation, as well as promoting collaboration within the industry, INSEE Cement Sri Lanka is responsibly steering the local construction sector towards sustainable construction products, solutions, processes and practices: A mission that will be continued through this leadership transition.
