Excel Green Residencies, Sri Lanka’s first fully sustainable apartment complex, introduced by Park View Holdings Ltd., was given the thumbs-up by Alston Koch – Sri Lankan of the Year, Global Entertainer of the Year, Ambassador for Climate Change and one of the most esteemed professionals in the music industry. The Hollywood and Bollywood celebrity commended the sustainable and eco-friendly concept of Excel Green Residencies.

This eco-friendly apartment complex is a game changer in the real estate industry as it combines solar generated power, carbon emission free low cost transport and clean fresh organic fruits and vegetables all from within the complex. This will be the way forward for all developers to consider in the future. The solar roof of the building generates free renewable power for all its residents.

A hydroponic vertical farm within the complex produces fresh fruits and vegetables that are free of chemical fertiliser and pesticides, keeping the residents healthy and happy. Lush vertical external gardens are designed to create balance in biodiversity and also provide passive cooling for the whole building.

Promoting electric vehicle usage combined with carpooling gives the building zero emission status. An efficient Japanese treatment plant cleans and recycles brown water to a drinkable standard. This eco-friendly concept is building a vertical community on the principles of ‘One Planet Living’ and converts the concrete building into a vertical village, a community created for the betterment of all. This is the ultimate goal of sustainable living.

Alston emphasised this fact by saying, “I have always been passionate about saving our planet by living sustainably and promoting the concept of green living to the world. Excel Green Residencies meets my expectations in a sustainable development. It is the first of its kind I have come across.”

He added: “The place we call home is where we feel safe and where we come together with family and friends. Projects such as these are working to make our homes more sustainable, healthier, happier living environments and as a bonus it’s more economical. Excel Green Residencies is setting an example for what is possible in green development. I commend the commitment and pioneering spirit of Saliya Jayasuriya, Managing Director of Park View Holdings and the visionary behind this eco-friendly project, and his contribution to save the planet through this sustainable living venture.”

Alston is known throughout the industry for inspiring and mentoring a generation of young musicians as well as for sharing his expert knowledge on climate change. His recent song, ‘Make a change,’ is a climate change message from Sri Lanka to the world, echoing his sentiments and feelings on this global topic.
