Access Engineering successfully hands over research centre to SLTC

Access Engineering PLC successfully completed construction of the Academic and Research Centre of Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) at Padukka. This is the second significant project awarded to

Access Engineering PLC (AEL) by SLTC. The scope of work included the construction of the two-storey research centre along with the amenities.

The research centre is designed utilising the existing landscape with minimum excavations and clearance of natural fauna and flora around the site. The building will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities incorporated with environmental-friendly and energy-efficient features. This project aims to provide lecture facilities for 1,200 students together with modern facility equipped multi-disciplinary centre with a canteen and an endless rooftop garden surround by the eco-friendly environment.

AEL Project Manager Senarath Bandara mentioned, “We encountered many challenges during rainy seasons as the site got flooded often but we ensured to maintain the eco-friendly construction procedures so that the environment is not harmed. Moreover, COVID-19 pandemic situation also affected in finishing the project on timely basis due to material and labour shortages however; with the contribution and commitment of the team we successfully completed the project creating new avenues to our future generation.”
