‘Construct 2018’ to be unveiled in Colombo

Construct 2018, Sri Lanka’s No. 1 construction exhibition, will be held from 24-26 August at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre (SBMEC) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

This three-day comprehensive event is unequivocally Sri Lanka’s largest and most promising construction industry related exhibition showcasing building materials, building services and construction equipment among a wide range of other standardised services.

This event, which sets the benchmark as the most significant and all-inclusive exhibition in the whole of the South Asia region, is organised by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) for the 18th consecutive year.

NCASL Chairman Athula Priyantha Galagoda said: “We are greatly humbled to host Construct 2018, a dynamic space that brings together countless local and foreign experts at an event of such magnitude. Construct 2018 will be a conglomeration that provides a gamut of construction solutions that are on par with global and technological trends. The expo is set to attract and cater to a large network of people locally and regionally. The expo will be equipped with modern and innovative conceptualised kiosks that will play a significant role in changing the perspectives of visitors, of construction norms and solutions.” 

“Since its inception in 2001, the exhibition has grown exponentially and has incorporated many new and proficient features into its program. The Construct exhibition was conceived with the vision to provide the masses with construction solutions in line with current global trends and technological advances, and to create seamless opportunities for the exhibitors. Chairman of the Organising Committee of Construct 2018, Ruwan de Silva, reiterated that the exhibition had always maintained the highest standards and was truly Sri Lanka’s most comprehensive construction trade exhibition. 

“Construct 2018 covers the entire range of services, featuring over 500 local and foreign exhibitors showcasing the best construction solutions available today. Celebrated for its international exposure, the trade exhibition will function as a dynamic networking platform and resource centre for all the construction industry related players in the Asia Pacific region and beyond,” he added.

The exhibition will include a large variety of products and services from both local and international suppliers including China, Malaysia, Korea and India which will provide an infinite number of possibilities to the thousands of guests expected to visit the show.

The exhibition will also provide all access to key decision-makers in the industry and is thus sure to promote lucrative business propositions to the exhibitors facilitating the demand-oriented nature the industry has rapidly grown to become.

Construct 2018 is also geared to integrate sub-industries related to the construction industry to further enhance its program while a series of seminars will also be held to inspire the growing populace of ever evolving global trends.
