Wickramarachchi Opticians & Hearing Care celebrates World Children’s Day

Sri Lanka’s pioneering sight and hearing care service provider Wickramarachchi Opticians & Hearing Care recently celebrated World Children’s Day with a series of activities at its branches. The events and activities were centred on the company’s Delkanda, Kohuwela and Nugegoda branches on 1 October.

Speaking regarding the celebrations Founder and Managing Director Mihira Wickramarachchi noted, “Children are an integral part of our society but often do not receive the level of care that we see in Western nations. We have therefore constantly strived to bring the best care and equipment particularly to enhance sight and hearing among children. Not only on Children’s Day but throughout the year we try our level best to educate parents on the importance of vision and hearing in children in many different ways. This year we decided to add element of fun in to our awareness campaigns as well so that we engage more children.”

Three ice-cream stalls were set up outside the aforementioned outlets during after school hours and free ice-cream was handed out to scores of tired children who flocked to get their free treat. Parents and other pedestrians were also not left behind with generous gift 1,000 rupee gift vouchers being handed out to everyone. Furthermore, a free on-the-spot hearing and eye screening was also conducted for all children who visited the stalls. Meanwhile, Wickramarachchi Opticians will be running a month-long 50% off offer on all children’s frames and sunglasses till the end of October. This offer has been extended to all of its branches conveniently located around Colombo and the suburbs. In celebration of childhood, a large collection of children’s frames have also been introduced to an already extensive repertoire of branded and non-branded spectacle frames and sunglasses.
