Message from the Chairman, National Cleaner Production Centre, Sri Lanka

“National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC) was setup by UNIDO under the Ministry of Industry in 2002. In current institutional setup, the Centre partner with Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) & National Chamber of Exporters (NCE), while the board is represented by directors from Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Environment. NCPC strategically positioned to support the sustainable industrial development under the mandate of UNIDO & UNEP with the blessings of the Government of Sri Lanka.  

NCPC has been advocating and promoting Resource Efficiency & Cleaner Production (RECP) since 2002. Those industries and businesses who has adopted RECP practices has been substantially benefited with resource savings. Recognizing and appreciating the Cleaner Production achievements are a golden opportunity for the industries through proper evaluation and judgment under a standard methodology. We are very pleased to congratulate the companies who have won National Cleaner Production Awards in 2019.”
