Visiting Maldivian delegation calls on Sri Lanka PM

A visiting Maldivian state delegation said the purpose of their visit was to show the international community that Sri Lanka is a tourist friendly, peaceful and safe country.

The Maldivian delegation including Vice President of the Maldives Faisal Naseem and Speaker and former president Mohamed Nasheed called on the Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday at the Temple Trees and engaged in a friendly discussion.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Maldivian delegation for their visit to Sri Lanka, confirming the friendship between the two countries.

Subsequently, the Maldivian delegation was hosted to a dinner by the Prime Minister.

Ministers John Amaratunga, Ravi Karunanayake, non-cabinet Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva, State Minister Ajith Mannapperuma, Parliamentarians Rishad Bathiudeen, AHM Fowzie Mujibur Rahman, Harshana Rajakaruna, and Kavinda Jayawardena, Prime Minister’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, and other politicians were present on the occasion.
