Two more COVID-19 deaths confirmed by health authorities

Health authorities yesterday confirmed two more COVID-19 deaths, which brought the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 459.

According to a statement issued by the Department of Government Information, an 83-year-old individual from Wattala tested positive for COVID-19 at the Kiribathgoda Base Hospital and was admitted to the Colombo East Base Hospital. However, she died of COVID-pneumonia and a bacterial infection yesterday.

On 21 February, an individual from Kadawatha died of heart disease and exacerbated diabetes with COVID-19 while receiving treatment at the Colombo North Teaching Hospital. The individual was 62 years old.
