Turkish World Radio and TIKA train Lankan journalists

Sixteen journalists working in various media institutions in the field of electronic media attended a training and workshop in Turkey, sponsored by Turkish TIKA, INGO office in Colombo. The Turkish Government organised the 10-day residential course, in collaboration with TIKA and Turkish Radio and Television Institute in Angara, Turkey.

Turkish Radio Television Training Institute provided training in lighting, photography, videography, editing and sound, using the latest technology. More than 16 journalists from Sri Lanka and seven other journalists from Oshawa, Africa participated in this residential course and workshop training and visited various historic places including the museum in Istanbul and Angara.

The Turkish Government’s TIKA provides a helping hand on humanitarian grounds for disaster and war affected countries, agriculture, drinking water, health, media, education, poverty and economy in 176 countries. Last year a TIKA branch was established in Colombo.
