Swiss Embassy employee records statement for third day

• Gives lengthy statement for third day in presence of her lawyers and Embassy officers
• Travel ban against her in place till 12 Dec.

The CID recorded a statement from the Swiss Embassy employee who claims she was allegedly detained and threated by a group of unidentified persons for the third day yesterday.

She was accompanied by Swiss Embassy officials as well as her lawyers.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court on Monday extended the travel ban which was in place till 12 December.

The alleged victim, the Assistant to the Immigration Officer at the Embassy, had reported to the Embassy that she was forced into a vehicle and seriously threated by a group of unidentified persons on the evening of 25 November.

The Swiss Embassy lodged a complaint with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 27 November based on which Police began the investigations.
