The Mayor of the South Korean capitol Seoul, Park Wonsoon, during a courtesy call on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday, said that Seoul wished to establish a link with a sister city in Sri Lanka.

He also thanked him for the support extended by Sri Lanka to South Korea at international forums. President Sirisena said that such a link between cities would help by enabling both cities to learn from each of their urban development strategies.

Referring to the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and South Korea, the President said that this was the time to think ahead to see how strong relations could be developed during the next 40 years.

A four-member senior delegation from Seoul and Korean Ambassador in Sri Lanka Chang Won-sam were present at occasion.
