Ravi and five others acquitted from SLPA trespassing case

Colombo Fort Magistrate yesterday acquitted and released former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and five others who were charged with allegedly trespassing into a Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) building in October 2014.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage ordered to acquit and release former UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake, Samagi Jana Balawegaya MPs Ajith P. Perera and Nalin Bandara and three others from the case.

They were charged with allegedly trespassing into a SLPA building in Colombo-2 and attacking Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya (NSS) members during a fact-finding mission at the SLPA premises on 21 October 2014. They were granted bail and temporarily released by the court in March 2015.
