Prof. Channa Jayasumana appointed Acting Health Minister

• Pavithra recovers from COVID-19, discharged from IDH
• Roshan Ranasinghe receives new State Ministerial portfolio

Prof. Channa Jayasumana has been appointed as the Acting Health Minister till the Minister-In-Charge Pavithra Wanniarachchi who was infected with COVID-19 returns to work.

The Acting Minister was sworn in before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat, yesterday. Prof. Jayasumana is the Pharmaceutical Production, Supply and Regulation State Minister.

Health Minister Wanniarachchi who was receiving treatment for the virus, has recovered and was discharged from IDH yesterday. 

In addition, Roshan Ranasinghe has been appointed as the Provincial Councils and Local Government State Minister and was sworn in to his new State Ministerial portfolio before the President at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. Ranasinghe previously held the Land Management, State Enterprises Land and Property Development State Ministerial portfolio.
