Pakistan’s Army Chief in town today

The Army Chief of Pakistan, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, is visiting Sri Lanka on the invitation of the Commander of the Sri Lankan Army from 15-17 January.

During his stay in Sri Lanka, General Bajwa will hold discussions on matters of professional interests with his counterpart, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake. He will also call on the top political and military hierarchy including President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in order to discuss issues of regional security and matters of mutual interest.

A get-together of serving Pakistan Staff College and National Defence University-qualified Sri Lankan army officers is being arranged during visit to provide an opportunity for alumni members of prestigious Pakistan military institutions to interact with the Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistani Army.
