Notice calling nominations for LG polls to be issued on 27 Nov.

Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya yesterday announced that the notice calling for nominations for the Local Government elections will be issued on 27 November.

Accordingly, nominations for the LG polls will be accepted after 14 days of the notice being circulated. The notice will be issued to District selection officials.

Nominations will be accepted within three and a half days after the notice has been issued.

Deshapriya said that the official time period for nominations to be submitted will come to an end at midnight 17 days after 27 November.

The Elections Commission will issue a gazette notification identifying the District selection officials within the course of the day.
