North-Western Province Governor A.J.M. Muzammil this week inspected a site near the tourism centre located in Badagamuwa, Kurunegala Road, with regard to a suitable place to install a scan machine, under the North-Western Province development project.

The machine would inspect the vehicles entering Kurunegala Town as part of the focus on national security.

As per the Governor’s instructions, measures were taken to provide funds from the North-Western Provincial Fund to construct a building to house the scan machine, which was donated to the Kurunegala Police, and a place to provide facilities for the welfare of the passengers when the vehicles are being scanned.

Governor Muzammil was accompanied by Kurunegala Mayor Thushara Sanjeewa Vitharana, North-Western Provincial Chief Secretary P.B.M. Sirisena, Kurunegala Senior Superintendent of Police, Kurunegala Assistant Superintendent of Police, the North Western Province Governor’s Private Secretary and Coordinating Secretary, and officials.
