New DG of Health Services

Dr. Asela Gunawardena

Dr. Asela Gunawardena has been appointed as the new Director General of Health Services, according to the Ministry of Health.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Asela Gunawardena was serving as the Director of the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.

Former Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe was appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of Environment and the post of Director General of Health Services became vacant. Deputy DG Dr. S. Sritharan functioned as the Acting Director General of Health Services, following the departure of Dr. Jasinghe.
