The National Police Commission's Public Complaint Management System was launched by the National Police Commission (NPC) yesterday under the patronage of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

The Public Complaint Management System enables the public to submit complaints via a web-based interface, streamline public complaint investigation process and strengthen monitoring, data analysis and reporting capacities of the NPC.

Strengthening independent commissions such as the National Police Commission are critical to realise the aspirations of the Peacebuilding Priority Plan of Sri Lanka, developed by the Government and the United Nations in Sri Lanka, the UN Resident Coordinator Hanna Singer said at the launch of the Public Complaint Management System.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Chief of Mission for Sri Lanka and Maldives Sarat Das said: "The introduction of the Public Complaint Management System contributes to strategic priority areas of the Peacebuilding Priority Plan of Sri Lanka.” He said the IOM believes that this system will strengthen the NPC's capacity and benefit the public of the country.
