Mobile laboratory to test drinking water quality

A World Bank funded, fully equipped water testing mobile laboratory, at a cost of 25 million has been handed over to the Department of National Community Water Supply, in the presence of SLMC Leader, Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education Rauff Hakeem on Friday (22), at its office in Thalawathugoda. The services of the mobile unit would be provided to all the districts on necessity and priority. This mobile laboratory has also been designed to carry out testing whenever natural disasters occurs in any part of the island. 

 State Minister of City Planning and Water Supply Lucky Jayawardene, State Secretary J.M. Mangala Tissa, World Bank Senior Water and Sanitation specialist Pratibha Mistry, WASSIP Project Directer M.U.K. Ranathunga, Director General of Department of National Community Water Supply Jayathilaka Herath, District Officers of the Department and many others also participated at the event.
