Minister condemns killing of Iranian military leader

  • Asks UNP to condemn attacks too

A senior Government minister yesterday condemned the USA drone attack which killed an Iranian Major General in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and said this could lead to war between the two countries.

”We condemn the actions of the USA. This incident could be taken as a threat to the leaders in other countries, especially those who speak against imperialism. This is a very serious matter,” Education Minister Dulles Alahapperuma said in Parliament.

He said the as a responsible opposition, the UNP too should condemn this attack. “The UNP should express its opinion about this incident. This is a threat to the lives of the leaders and citizens in the countries which speak against imperialism. Everyone should speak against such action,” he said. (CK)
