Kiriella says support Tri-forces to maintain law and order

Leader of the House and Public Enterprise, Kandyan Heritage and Kandy Development Minister Lakshman Kiriella has requested the public to extend their support to the Tri-forces in order to maintain law and order, due to the situation that has arisen in the country.  

The Minister stated this while addressing a ceremony held at Teldeniya area in Kandy yesterday.

Expressing his views further, the Minister stated: “A series of tragic incidents have occurred in the country today. In the wake of this tragic situation, the Government has already taken measures to tighten security in Colombo as well as throughout the island. These are acts of extremists. 

“The public should extend their support to the Police to provide protection to all religious sites including Dalada Maligawa as well as all churches, mosques and kovils. I would request people from all provinces to support the Tri-forces to maintain law and order in the country.”
