Jamiyyathul Ulama mourns death of Bellanwila Wimalaratana Nayake Thero

The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama has expressed its condolences over the death of Bellanwila Wimalaratana Nayake Thero.

Following is the message issued by All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama President Ash-Shaikh Mufti M.I.M Rizwe and General Secretary Ash-Shaikh M.M.A. Mubarak.

We, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, are grieved by the news of the demise of Professor Venerable Dr. Bellanwila Wimalaratana Nayake Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya. We extend our deepest sympathies to all who mourn in the country, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

He worked hard towards establishing a peaceful and prosperous motherland. The highest degree of honour and gratitude that all Sri Lankans could show is to continue his everlasting mission of striving towards peace and prosperity in the country.

We, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama, on behalf of the Muslim community, convey our deepest condolences to the Sri Lankan Buddhist community, the respectable members of the Boards of Trustees, and Buddhist clergies of the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya.
