Inter-religious prayers islandwide to protect country and people from COVID-19 pandemic

Special inter-religious prayers were held at temples, kovils, mosques and churches islandwide on Saturday. It was requested by the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs to protect our country and the people of Sri Lanka from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Islamic religious prayers were held at the Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Coordinator Dr. Ash Seyed Hafil Hassan Moulana conducted the prayers.

Ash Sheik H. Omardeen and Ash Sheik M. Farood also conducted the prayers in Sinhala and Tamil.

Uva Provincial Council Governor A.J.M. Muzammil, Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Coordinating Secretary Farzan Munsoor, Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Director A.B.M. Ashroff, and Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque Trustee Muslim Salahudeen were also present.
