High Post Committee clears 2 ambassadorial appointees, 4 Ministry Secretaries

• Shrimal Wickremasinghe approved as new Ambassador to the Seychelles
• Four ministry secretary names cleared

The High Post Committee (HPC) of Parliament yesterday approved Shrimal Wickremasinghe as the new Ambassador to the Seychelles and J.M.J.P. Bandara as the new Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In addition to these names, the Committee also approved the recent appointments of four Ministry Secretaries. They are Mapa Pathirana as Secretary to the Ministry of Labour, R.M.I. Ratnayake as Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries, Anuradha Wijekoon as Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe as Secretary to the Ministry of Health.

All nominees appeared before the Committee, Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake said.

Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena, Ministers Chamal Rajapaksa, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Johnston Fernando, Udaya Gammanpila, Sudarshini Fernandopulle and Vidura Wickramanayake, and Members of Parliament W.D.J. Seneviratne, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and Rishad Bathiudeen, were present at the committee meeting.
