The Committee on High Posts (HPC) approved the appointment of four secretaries to ministries and an ambassador, Secretary General Dhammika Dasanayake said.

Among those whose names were confirmed to the posts were Dr. Anil Jasinghe as Secretary to the Ministry of Environment. 

In addition, Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama as Secretary to the Ministry of Water Supply, Prof. Kapila Perera as the Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education, and M.M.P.K Mayadunne as Secretary to the Ministry of Justice were also approved. 

The HPC also approved the appointment of M. Mohamed as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Qatar.

The committee meeting – chaired by Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena – was also attended by Ministers Chamal Rajapaksa, Dinesh Gunawardena, Bandula Gunawardena, Douglas Devananda, Udaya Gammanpila, State Ministers Vidura Wickramanayake, Sudarshani Fernandopulle, and MPs Anura Priyadharshana Yapa and John Seneviratne.
