The Election Commission (EC) yesterday issued the Gazette notification with the names of national list MPs of three political parties.

These include the names of the 17 nominees of the SLPP and one each of the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITSK), the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Ahila Illankai Tamil Congress (AITC).

The SLPP national list MPs are: Gamini Lakshman Pieris, Sagara Kariyawasam, Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Ali Sabri, Jayantha Weerasinghe, Manjula Wijekoon Dissanayake, Ranjith Bandara, Charitha Herath, Gevindu Kumaratunga, Mohomed Muzammil, Tissa Vitharana, Yadamini Narodama Gunawardhane, Surendra Ragawan, Tiran Alles, Seetha Kumari Arambepola, Jayantha Ketagoda and

Mohamed Faleel Marjan Azmi.

The TNA has nominated Thavaraja Kalai Arasan as its national list MP while the AITC has named Selvarasa Gajenthiran to the seat.

The SLPP won 17 of the 29 national list seats while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) won seven. 

The remaining five seats were allocated one each to the UNP, NPP, TNA/ITAK, AITC and Our People’s Power Party.
