Dr. Deepika Udagama resigns as HRCSL Chairperson

Human Rights Commission (HRCSL) Chairperson Dr. Deepika Udagama has resigned from her post with effect from September, the Constitutional Council was informed yesterday.

CC outgoing Chairman Speaker Karu Jayasuriya appreciated the role played by Udagama in elevating the status of the Commission.  

He noted that the HRCSL is rated as one of the best in the world and conveyed his appreciation as well as all members of the CC to the Commission for the exceptional achievement.
