SLFP Group of 16 Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara yesterday refuted claims that he would adopt the membership of the Sri Lanka Podujan Peramuna (SLPP).

MPJayasekara told the Daily FT that there had been a request by the SLPP leadership for him to become an SLPP member which he declined.

“I have always maintained that I will remain a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. However, I will be working closely with the Joint Opposition in Parliament,” MP Jayasekara said.

He went on to note that he was currently focusing on the restructuring process of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. (SG)
