Civil society hands over petition with 16,000 signatures to Speaker

Civil Society representatives met Speaker Karu Jayasuriya in his Office yesterday to hand over a petition containing 16,000 signatures, calling on him to convene Parliament immediately and to restore democracy.

The Civil Society representatives urged Speaker Jayasuriya to order State officials to stop taking illegal orders.
