Champika to join SJB

Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka attended the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Executive Committee meeting on invitation yesterday to work closely with the party in the future, Ranawaka said, issuing a press release. 

According to Ranawaka, the SJB will discuss his future role and responsibilities at the next working committee meeting and inform him. The former Cabinet Minister downplayed allegations regarding his political future on social media, stating that he will represent the mandate of the people who voted for him and the SJB during the last general election. 

“We invited Champika Ranawaka to join the meeting today (25 January) and we plan to work closely with him in the future” SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara told Daily FT. (AF)
